Wisdom from my Brother-in-law:
1. Read the Book of Mormon in English with a Tagalog Book of Mormon next to it and record in a notebook words that you do not know and translate them from the English version (then when rereading the Book of Mormon in Tagalog, you will have dictionary of words to refer to)
2. When listening to people speaking Tagalog and you are confused, do not tune out, tune in! Listen for words you recognize and try to grasp the conversation.
3. When emailing home, write about investigators and important experiences. It will help your family learn about your mission and will help them understand what to pray for. Also, ask family members to pray for investigators.
